On Monday May 17, Governor Baker announced sweeping State Reopening Plans which dropped most statewide pandemic-related restrictions effective May 29. Additionally, the CDC lifted their mask guidelines. This new end date to restrictions places Massachusetts in line with all surrounding New England states.

So what does this mean for us here at Calvary?
Based on this new information, our staff and board have established a new set of guidelines for our Sunday services, and all Calvary events, beginning this Saturday, May 29th.

Do we have to pre-register for Sunday services or other events?
No, we will no longer require pre-registration to attend Sunday in-person services, additionally you don’t have to sign any entry cards when coming into the building midweek.  As a reminder our in-person service times are Sundays at 8:30AM, 10:30AM, 12:30PM and our Hispanic service is on Saturday nights at 7:30PM.

Should I come to church if I am feeling unwell?  No, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home.  This is especially true if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, dry cough, tiredness, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, etc. then please stay home and follow the current quarantining guidelines.

Is seating still socially distanced?
No, we will no longer require socially distant seating, and you will be able to enter and exit our buildings freely. But to accommodate those preferring some social distance please politely ask if neighboring seats are available as you are finding your seat.

Do I have to wear a mask?
Masks are no longer required, both indoors or outside, for anyone who is fully vaccinated. Wearing a mask is optional and encouraged for those who prefer to wear one for any reason.

Will Calvary Staff be wearing masks?
We are not requiring our staff to wear a mask if they are fully vaccinated, but all will have a mask at their disposal when talking with someone wearing a mask.

Do children have to wear a mask?
Mask-wearing for children attending services, many of whom are not yet eligible for a vaccination, is entirely up to their parents.

Are Sunday Kid’s Services starting up again too?
Our Children’s Ministry will begin again Sunday, June 6th for ages 2-11 in our 10:30AM service only.

Will church continue to be streamed online?
Yes, for those that are still not comfortable returning to church in person, we will continue to stream our services at 8:30AM, 10:30AM, 12:30PM and 5:00PM every Sunday.  And our Hispanic service will still continue to stream on Saturday nights at 7:30PM.

What other safety precautions are being taken?
We will still have all the same hand sanitizing units out that we did before, we will still be fully sanitizing the sanctuary between every service, on communion Sundays we will still be serving communion through individual prepackaged cups, and more.  We are truly excited for the relaxed restrictions, but we also want to everything we can to continue ensuring that our entire church family is safe and protected.

What about other ministries and groups?
Most of our other ministries are up and running in some capacity already.  Many already meet in person, and with these new guidelines we expect to see more and more in person meetings.  We will also continue to offer many options online or in hybrid form for those that are still not comfortable returning to church in person.  Be sure to check out our church website for all that is going on and how to get connected.
